"I Can See!" Says the Almost Blind Woman

I awoke today with my vision almost restored to normal. I'm still way sensitive to bright lights like sunshine, but regular house lighting doesn't cause pain anymore. The past two days have been filled with boredom! Two whole days of drops in the eye, a darkened room, pizza deliveries, and antibiotics worked! I found out my husband's kindle will actually read text to me so that helped. I can actually see the letters I'm typing on my 27" monitor...so it's back to work. My pile of chapters to be read and edited have grown to a small mountain on my desk.

I expect the eyestrain of trying to read, but at least I can read. While listening to books is interesting, I've done it while traveling long distances often, it isn't the same as reading the printed word. I've gained a whole new appreciation for my eyesight.

Keep writing and loving the Lord.

  1. Great news, Jo! And I agree with you, hearing isn't the same as reading. Not at all. ; )

  2. Glad you're doing better. The Kindle reading to you can be such a wonderful thing, mine reads to me to and from work, while I am folding and hanging up clothes, loading the dish washer. I haven't figured out how to do it while mowing the lawn without damaging the kindle I will listen to it read books to me there.
I sweat all over my mp3 player and frized it out.
Hopefully your eye will heal up and you'll be 100 percent in another day or so. Hang in there.

  3. Glad to hear you are doing better. I just did my first interview. I am trying to get "The Love Thief" out in the public eye as well as continuing neverending self promotion for "The Emerald's Secret".

  4. My old tagline was "Where Murphy's Law and the Luck of the Irish Come Together in Great Writing." I'm kinda hoping for more of the Luck of the Irish this year.

I love to hear from you! Agree, Disagree, Indifferent...no matter. Even if it's to say you were here.
